As a foster carer, you have the potential to support children and young people to overcome past traumas in their lives and help them realise their potential in life. Fostering requires a unique combination of commitment, motivation and resilience to realise the significance you can make to children and young people. Ultimately, this is a lifestyle choice that will not only enhance your life, but that of your family, friends, neighbours and those within your community.
Children are not the people of tomorrow, but are the people of today. They have a right to be taken seriously, and to be treated with tenderness and respect. They should be allowed to grow into whoever they were meant to be – the unknown person inside each of them is our hope for the future.gs.
Fostering With Compass
Compass Fostering Services (CFS) delivers the best quality supports and services to foster carers. We want foster carers to feel supported, included and valued throughout their fostering journey with us. There is such a critical necessity and crucial demand for foster carers to care for our most vulnerable children and young people, at this present time in our society. Just as there is diversity in foster children, foster carers need to come from all walks of life and have different life experiences, skills and qualities to help meet the needs of children and young people in foster care. We are reaching out to individuals and families from a wide range of cultural or ethnic backgrounds, religion, age and diverse upbringings to become foster carers for children and young people aged 0 – 18 years in Ireland.
It is a huge decision to make for you and your family to become foster carers. It will be challenging but it will also be the most rewarding of experiences for you and your family. It is extremely special to play a part in a child’s or young person’s life and watch them flourish and grow throughout the time they spend with you.
We work hand in hand with Foster Carers every step of the way. Our Foster Carers will be able to contact a member of the Fostering Team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our 24/7 support services will include Fostering Support Workers, along with a Link Social Worker.
Carers will also be provided with full training, and will be involved in Carers Team Meetings along with information on Fostering Allowances. By fostering with us you will always have a great support network around you
