What is Crescent Villas?

Crescent Villas is a semi-independent living environment for care leavers. It is a support service and programme specifically designed as a stepping stone to independent living. There are four one bedroom, self contained apartments within the building which cater for young adults together with a communal space where a professionally qualified team member is on hand to provide support and guidance. The goal of the team is to ensure young adults leaving Crescent Villas are confident in their life skills and have developed suitable community links so that they can flourish in life as independent persons.

Where is Crescent Villas?

Crescent Villas located very close to Limerick city centre. Limerick College of Further Education and Mary Immaculate College are within walking distance with Limerick Institute of Technology and the University of Limerick accessible by public transport. The house is in the heart of the Limerick city community with a variety of amenities close by including The Peoples Park and a variety of arts and sports clubs nearby. There are a number of shops and services close by and supermarkets all within walking distance.

The house has four one bedroomed self-contained apartments. Each apartment has an open plan kitchen/living room, separate double bedroom and bathroom. Every young person has their own individual apartment with 24hour support from a team of adults. This living space allows for both privacy and also the opportunity for communal engagement, interaction and inclusion for all.

Who can come to live in Crescent Villas? 

Crescent Villas is an Aftercare setting for care leavers both males and females. Care leavers must be aged between 18 and 21 inclusive at time of entry and be assessed as requiring continued support upon turning 18. All young people admitted to Crescent Villas must be assessed as having the capacity to live independently. 

It is imperative that young people into the Aftercare Community that have agreed to and engaged in the admission process and expressed a desire to live in Crescent Villas.
